WHERE UNICORNS ARE MADE
WHERE UNICORNS ARE MADE
Our promise is simple: trustworthy horses, exceptional education, and experiences that last a lifetime. With well-schooled partners, personalized lessons and leasing opportunities, Folklore Farm is designed for riders who value quality and care. It’s more than a farm , it’s a legacy of horsemanship.
"You’ll ❤️ this farm"
Our philosophy is that horses are incredibly complex, intelligent and sensitive creatures. We believe they are individuals, and not every horse is suitable for every person. The key to our success is creating a good horse/human match.
Our comprehensive training program enhances each horse’s strengths and talents while building their confidence. We expose our horses to as many different situations and stimuli as possible, each time setting them up for success. We strive to desensitize them to anything they might encounter in an active barn, family setting or at the show grounds. We feel nature is essential for mental and physical well-being, so all of our horses have exposure to trails and life outside the arena.
This approach carries through everything we do at Folklore Farm, including how we teach and develop our riders. Our lesson program has a strong focus on adults, from complete beginners and those returning to horses after years away to experienced riders continuing their education. We also welcome children who want to develop a solid foundation in horsemanship and riding. The horses developed through our program become safe, educated and versatile partners, making many of them exceptional lesson horses who are confident in their jobs and comfortable working with a variety of riders.
That same foundation is equally important in the horses we develop for sale. We believe a good sales horse should be more than talented in the arena. Our goal is to produce well-rounded, confident horses with a broad education and an understanding of life beyond their primary discipline. Just as we carefully match our lesson horses with their riders, we take great care in matching our sales horses with people whose goals, abilities and personalities suit the individual horse.
Ultimately, whether a horse remains at Folklore Farm or leaves to begin a new chapter with their own person, our goal is the same: to develop confident, educated horses and create successful, lasting horse-and-human partnerships.
